New Boyz repping URC – New Boyz is a jerkin crew and hip-hop/rap duo made up of rappers Earl “Ben J” Benjamin and Dominic “Legacy” Thomas from Hesperia, California. They debuted in summer 2009 with their viral hit, “You’re a Jerk”, taken from their debut studio album Skinny Jeanz and a Mic, released in September 2009. The song peaked in the top thirty of the Billboard Hot 100, and it was the first song to bring the jerkin’ style to the national forefront. “Minga” is an Ecuadorian term for “a community coming together to work for the benefit of all”. Fashion Minga is a collaboration of designers, performers, and tastemakers coming together to celebrate the various components that inspire fashion: music, dance, color, shape and visual elements. The debut of Fashion Minga took place during the last day of LA’s prestigious Fashion Week in October of 2009. Fashion Minga welcomed more than 1,300 guests, showcased seven up-and-coming designers, featured more than eight of the industry’s hottest dance teams/performers, attracted numerous celebrities, generated top revenue numbers for Boulevard3; our host venue, and was covered by numerous media outlets.
